Moovment™ - the digital 3D-self for personalised prevention and rehabilitation 

One in three people is affected by a Movement Related Disorder such as a musculoskeletal, neurological or age-related problem. The cost attributed to musculoskeletal problems alone, like back pain and arthritis, is enormous and the Years Lost to Disability outweigh cancer, diabetes, CV disease, and depression combined. Yet, very few people have had an objective assessment of their movement patterns, posture, or balance. Even disability claims are often managed based on subjective reporting. 

Most movement-related problems are easy to fix if they are identified early. A simple objective assessment based on a 3D recording is the pathway to finding the source of problems like pain, balance and dysfunction. Prescribing corrective or preventive exercises is the easy part through our Moovment Pro app.

Moovment™ combines affordable 3D video with deep learning techniques and advanced biomechanics to record, measure, visualise, and document a functional assessment in under 6 minutes. The scan is fast and easy to implement The onscreen animated feedback is immediate and engaging for the individual. Strengths and weaknesses are revealed using objective information and communicated in a way that is informative, motivating positive health behaviors - even in already healthy populations.

The automated scanning process is far less expensive and much easier than university laboratory or clinic testing. The hardware is portable and inexpensive, making the service easily scaleable. Scans are now available at workplaces, clinics, gyms, sports teams and some universities in Europe, Australia, SE Asia, South Africa, USA and soon Latin America.

Insurers are currently using it for marketing and health promotion. As we accumulate more scan data, we will introduce more decision support and automation based on machine learning. AI assisted decision support will help to optimise claims management, and eventually underwriting.

How does Moovment™ work?

Moovment™ by Qinematic™ offers a suite of SaaS elements:

• Moovment Scan for automated 3D movement scan software using an off-the-shelf 3D camera 
  
• Moovement Lab for virtual analysis and remote assessment and consultations
  
• Moovment Pro (released 2020 09 01) is a mobile-friendly web app for visualising 3D scans, measures, exercise videos, health surveys, goal setting and a secure chat forum.

Moovment Scan is self-serve and takes less than 6 minutes. The person simply copies the onscreen instructions, and the performance is recorded and analysed 30 times per second. The person gets instant animated feedback after the scan, and can get face-to-face advice or remote advice from a health specialist thereafter.

The scan is automated, fast, fun, and motivating. On average, 40-50 people can be scanned in a normal working day. Scan results and exercises are sent to the person's Moovment Pro account so they have the solutions to their problems on their phone for convenience.

Moovment Pro can be used on any device with a browser - phone, tablet or computer. The Health Seeker can register and create a QR code for a scan, they can see their scan results, follow their exercise plan, answer health survey, and set goals. They can see their progress over time and they can chat with a Health Specialist.  The Health Specialist can co-ordinate all of that activity remotely, as well as manage the data and generate an 8-page biomechanics report to save to their records. 

Moovment Lab is used by health professionals to review scans onscreen, in 3D, and at a speed that suits them. Many movement related problems such as knee control or balance are not detectable to the naked eye without the help of slow-motion, different viewing angles and visualisation. Moovment Lab offers decision support for enhanced decisions, and documentation at the press of a button. The visualisation is used for engaging online consultations and triage.
